My Students

Remember what it was like sitting in straight rows, facing the chalkboard, and being the recipient of a lecture? Well, those days are no more. My students use a variety of technology and hands-on materials, there is just one thing they are missing - specialized seating to enhance their learning.

My students are in 6th grade and have diverse backgrounds.

They are excited about being at a new school and are proactive in their learning. They face challenges both in and out of the classroom, but the biggest struggle is their ability to learn in a stoic classroom setting. I am trying to bring energy and excitement for learning to them by supplying furniture that will be comfortable and support their varying disabilities.

My Project

The materials will be used at our desks and tables in my room. As we collaborate together, the Hokki Stool will allow them to remain on task, while their lower body moves. The combination of moving and learning is all part of the formula for success.

These special stools for my special students will be just one way they are shown how much their progress and success drives everything I do.

Many of them have never received something brand new and will be thrilled to use them daily.
