My special needs students with CP have low muscle tone. One of the major benefits of trampolines for toddlers is the exercise it provides to all vital body muscles from the biceps, triceps, to back muscles, legs and thighs. The joints and muscles are challenged leaving the students healthier.
I teach Multiple Disabilities students.
My class consists of autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and emotionally disturbed students. My MD classroom is in a public school setting. They are great kids who need something that is reinforcing and motivating for them to exercise on.
My Project
As the kids jump up and down, their brain is constantly getting new data and recording the physical reactions of the body to various movements. This goes a long way in assisting the baby as s/he learns to walk. It also provides an opportunity for them to practice rhythm and gain balance on an uneven surface, which in turn helps them having an easier time walking on regular surfaces. Trampoline time provides an awesome learning opportunity for a preschool kid as s/he gets to observe and take instructions from whoever is watching him or her. The child will also feel loved from the attention s/he gets at that time.
This trampoline would really help my special needs students learn coordination and gross motor development.
The trampoline is ideal for children with special needs who crave vestibular motion. The trampoline comes with an easy grip handle, to encourage children to exercise and keep fit.
