Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in our class consists reading and comprehending. At the end of the year, I want all of them to be reading on a second grade or higher level. My biggest challenge is motivating the students to constantly strive to be life learners. My favorite quote is "Readers are Leaders".

Most of my students live below the poverty line.

Most of them perform below the academic level and are being raised by older siblings. There is little or no support at home to reinforce learning. My students are not exposed to different learning experiences outside of school.

My Project

The listening center that I have requested will help students become better readers and expose them to learning new and different things through reading. The rug will allow the students to be closer to me during whole group instruction without having to sit on the floor.

The donations will make a difference in my classroom by giving the students the opportunity to have a better learning environment at school in spite of where they reside and to have fun while they are doing it.
