Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember your first dental visit or losing your first tooth? Do you wish you were better informed on dental care as a child? First grade is the perfect time to teach young children proper dental hygiene.

I am blessed to have 22 awesome children in my 1st grade class.

We attend a Title 1 school in low income area. Most of my children are raised by single parents, foster parents, or grandparents. My students are eager to learn but do not have the luxuries that many of us take for granted.

My Project

I was heartbroken when I learned that some of my students do not brush their teeth on a daily basis. The dental hygiene books and learn to brush demonstration kit will allow me to teach my young students the importance of proper dental care which will improve their dental health. I believe that early dental education will increase the children's awareness which will result in better care and reduce future dental problems.

Please allow me to make a positive impact on my students.

The dental books and learn to brush demonstration kit will enable me to teach my class by showing the proper techniques of brushing, flossing and caring for their teeth and gums. A child's healthy smile is a horrible thing to waste.
