This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Art is a wonderful subject to teach. It has a rich history and every country in the world has a unique art culture. When we study art we want to see the artworks on a Smart Board, because we usually have a few dozen students in the classroom. We need large, bright images that everyone can see.

The students in my Title 1 school are immigrants to the United States.

They are very poor and have very little to call their own. However, they do bring with them a love of learning and excitement about creating art. They love color and drawing. They love expressing themselves.

My Project

I am asking for a Smart Board and Projector. My art students need to see the art images in our art room in large and vivid colors. Art is extremely visual and a Smart Board will enable all of us to see the objects and paintings I am teaching about. We also need 90 sketchbooks, so the Middle School students each have a place to record their daily drawings and ideas.

Art is an interdisciplinary subject.

By studying art, my students will also learn history, social students, music, literature, language, math and science. We need a Smart Board to show the various aspects of art to everyone in the classroom. We also need sketchbooks, so our Middle School students have a place for drawing. Please help us fund this necessary project, so my students can see the excitement of art in front of them through up to date technology!
