This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many of my students are English language learners. They are working hard to learn the language and learning how to read at the same time!Engaging songs that teach phonics, and additional stories that can be downloaded will have a great impact on their education.

I teach at a public school in California.

Most of our students qualify for free lunches. Many are new to this country. They need help learning the phonics sounds so they can become better readers. They will also benefit from many stories that can be accessed through this equipment. Learning through singing is one of the most engaging and productive ways of acquiring knowledge.

My Project

Reading is a key that unlocks the world to my students! Despite poverty they can become successful students that are eager to learn and to be encouraged to dream big, when it comes to their future. They need all the different ways that are available, to access the knowledge of the sounds and structure of English language. With the use of iPod and a speaker system, I can quickly access numerous songs and stories that will enhance the lessons taught!

I want my students to have a successful learning experience.

Funding this project will provide tools for me to share learning songs and stories to greatly enrich my students love of learning and their ability to read.
