My Students

Math is so tedious. Doing all assignments as homework is BORING! Not to mention no immediate feedback. When students have dry erase boards to do their assignment on it can be done as a whole group, with IMMEDIATE feedback. This gives all students instant help when they need it.

I teach a great group of kids who are in bad situations.

Our district is in a high poverty area. My students have the intellect to go on to college, but few have the means, and most would be first generation! When I can give them a fun way to expand their math skills I am giving them more opportunities to continue their education and remove themselves from the poverty that surrounds them.

My Project

Having a class set of dry-erase boards and markers allows me to see what each student is doing in "real time". The students don't even realize how many problems they are doing when they are doing them on the dry erase boards. They think they are just playing. It gives them lots of practice without feeling like it!

These boards will be used in my classroom for many years.

They will also be shared with other teachers in my building. When a project is funded it gives my students the sense that someone really cares about them.
