This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember doing fun art projects in school? I can only remember a few projects that I actually enjoyed. However, I would have LOVED to create my own masterpiece on a T-shirt!
I have such a wonderful group of fifth graders this year.
They are kind, humorous, and very appreciative. I am thrilled with their thirst for knowledge and eagerness to learn. Our school is located in a low socioeconomic area. Over 80% of our families qualify for free breakfast and lunch. Regardless of the many daily challenges my kiddos face, they show up every day, ready to learn and have fun!
My Project
I am a T-shirt loving teacher! I have many "teacher" shirts that I enjoy wearing on Fridays. I think it would be incredible for my whole class to design a shirt of their very own! This way we could show our class spirit and unity on Fridays!
I would like to teach my kiddos how to use their Chromebooks to design their very own iron-on! We will watch some videos on the subject and practice with sketches and tea collaboration. They will see their creation come to life as I iron it on their T-shirt canvas! I know my class will enjoy this activity and they will be so grateful for the opportunity to have a new shirt. They will be proud to wear them on any field trip.
Your help will inspire my students to create a techy T-shirt masterpiece!
They will learn how to create their very own designs on their Chromebooks.
Best of all, they will have great mementos of their year in fifth grade.
