My Students
Have you ever needed a break from your day? My students need various sensory breaks throughout their day.
I have students who have are in the special education program in my school. All of my students are on grade level and work so hard in school. However, many of them have sensory issues where things such as the smell of food or the lights bother them. Some of my students have autism or social emotion issues.
My Project
If my students were to get these materials they would be able to take quick and effective breaks that will help them get adjusted to the classroom. They will have a chance to play with sensory toys, have a cushion seat, and have fidget hand toys that will help them concentrate in school. When I see my students getting upset or agitated, I can give them tools to properly take a break.
All of my students want to be successful in the classroom and with these materials they will learn to control their impulses. They will get the break they need before their behavior escalates. They will be able to return to the classroom and be ready to learn!
