My room bustles with eager Kindergarteners who are ready to learn. They enter with ideas, stories, and lots of energy. We are working on building routines and practices that will foster their creativity. I want my students to leave me with a solid foundation and love for learning.
My students are Kindergarteners who come from a variety of diverse backgrounds in an urban environment.
They are peaceful, caring individuals who have given me the honor of teaching and learning with them this year. They attend an urban school at an arts integrated elementary school. My students are typical 5 year olds with a ton of energy and curiosities that require touching everything in order to learn about it. They love to move, sing, and tell funny stories. There isn't any technology in our classroom that students can access to create, practice, and enhance their learning. Ipads would allow every student access to technology with the variety of applications and resources that are available.
My Project
My students will use the six iPads with cases across content areas for a variety of reasons. They will work in small groups, partners, and individually for a variety of projects and lessons. Students will work on interventions by using apps that will foster their number sense, letter identification/sound knowledge, and enhance their presentation of learning. In addition to using apps daily for interventions, the iPads will be a great tool that will help my students to represent their work in a variety of ways. We will use apps to create digital stories during writer's workshop, and to create videos, and songs that will highlight our learning. In math workshop; students will build their number sense, and use a variety of applications to show their mathematical thinking and use digital manipulatives to solve problems. These tools will be the perfect technology to aid in my students hands on learning experience and they will engage every learner.

Students will be engaged and excited to use the iPads for a variety of projects: from creating multi-media presentations, to listening to audio books to build their love of reading, or working on differentiated apps that will improve their phonics skills. Every child will have the ability to learn from this technology. My Kindergarteners will be thrilled to have an additional tool to aid them in their learning.
