My students are a wonderful bunch of four and five year olds who enjoy coming to school to see friends, teachers, and to learn. As the teacher of transitional kindergarten students our classes are comprised of four year olds from across the entire district. This means our demographics cover a wide range which include low income/high poverty. Our classrooms are designed to make sure all students/parents are not only getting what they want from this learning experience but, most importantly, what they need.
My Project
We need six active learning stools for alternative seating options to increase their learning potential! Alternative seating is become the new wave in education and is slowly filling classroom around the country. When students are given options beside just sitting in chairs, such as ball seats, wobble stools, bouncy bands, etc., they are engaging various parts of their brain which helps with concentration and learning.
Studies have shown that seat work is becoming more and more prevalent even in grades as low as kindergarten and preschool!
Use of alternative seating materials such as ball seats is a great way to help students pay attention and have a bit of fun too.
With your generous donation these 6 learning stool are enough for an entire table of wiggly 4-5 year olds to use to help them concentrate on tasks at hand, build core/stomach muscles, and enjoy learning even more than before.
Currently our classroom has 5 tables, 4 with alternative seating options, and the purchase of Learniture Active Learning Stools will make the perfect addition to our flexible seating options for our 2 classes of transitional kindergartners.
