My Students

"Men love to wonder, and that is the seed of science." Ralph Waldo Emerson My students love to wonder and discover and I believe that science and discovery is the cornerstone of their education. My biggest challenge in my district is our lack of resources, which is negatively impacting my students.

My students come from many different backgrounds.

More than half of my students are Native American and live on a local Indian Reservation. The one thing that my students get excited about, each and every day, is Science. They love to learn, experiment, and discover, and my classroom is the only safe place that they have to do this. These students deserve an academically rich environment that meets their educational needs, and that is what I am trying to provide them.

My Project

My students will use the Scholastic Science World Magazine to learn about current Science discoveries. This magazine meets the new Common Core Standards using expository text. This magazine will allow for students to explore expository, scientific information, lessons and experiments.

Scholastic Science World Magazine will give my students access to current scientific topics, research, and the latest news on discoveries.

This magazine will bring the world into our classroom and help my students understand what is happening around the globe, as well as open their eyes to a world of possibilities.
