My students need Arduino Redboards from Sparkfun, Cable Connectors, Sensor Modules, Stackable headers to add "shields" to the arduino, and soldering irons for connections.
These materials are for use by students in our school Science Club. We are beginning programming with arduinos and have participated in the Khan Academy-DonorsChoose coding class to earn funds for these supplies.
The students in science club are in grades 8-12 and participate in ecology, science olympiad and volunteering activities.
The students in science club have fun have while developing their interests in science, technology, math and engineering-related activities.
My Project
We will use these materials to learn about electronics and to create electronic devices like manually controlled and sensor controlled (automatic) robots. Students will begin by learning simple code to connect and control arduino functions, then as they develop, create progressively more complex programmable devices.
This project will provide the electronic components that we need, such as Arduino Redboards from Sparkfun, Cable Connectors, sensor modules, stackable headers to add "shields" to the arduino, and soldering irons, so that we can begin.
We are currently limited in what we can do by the lack of supplies. With the components in this list we can begin to engage ourselves with electronics and programming, opening the door to a previously unknown universe!
