My Students

Help change the learning inside my classroom! My students have a very difficult time using newspapers and magazines that are commonly found in libraries and newsstands. These magazines are informative and written by kids at the same age of my students! Be the one who makes THE difference!

My classroom is a mix of regular and special education, urban students.

They often do not have access to extracurricular materials or activities. They are below grade level in reading and math. Because these materials are written by students who are the same age, my kids are enthusiastic to read them when the magazines arrive. They often beg to dive into the material and are interested in what the magazines have to say.

My Project

These magazines offer rich and meaningful images to current events happening in our world today. This grant will give the opportunity for my students to connect to our world and actually make changes in their own lives. My students will be able to learn problems of our society and how we are dealing with them right now. Many times, they bring the information home and talk to their parents about what they can do as a family about the issues presented in the articles. My students need authentic research materials to help them connect to the news of the world around them

Give my kids a gift that they normally won't have!

Let them view the world through the eyes of their peers and make them excited to learn. By giving to this grant, you will give my students access to materials that they normally wouldn't be able to touch. Thank you so much for your support in the lives of my students!
