Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My hopes and dreams for my students are simple: "follow your individual dreams, explore daily and never give up." Students' response to digital interaction is breathtaking and inspirational. We need to increase and digitize our prior knowledge activation in our classroom.

My students are truly phenomenal.

They motivate and inspire me daily. I simply want the BEST for them. We are a low income school in the inner city and 90% of our students are on free or reduced lunch. However, enter our school, and you wouldn't know it. We exude scholastic confidence. Kids are learning and growing. Tomorrow's great leaders are perched in front of me everyday: "Ms. Frank, 'What are we exploring today?' 'What are we adding to our schema today?' 'Will our schema grow today?'" "Yes,boys and girls. Today we will begin exploring the amazing animal world."

My Project

With our new laptop, my students can view educational video clips to cement their schematic experience. The digital clips will replace pictures and photos of daily lessons and activities. Before every lesson or activity, I ask my students to share information they already know about a topic or subject. I can visualize the tremendous amount of excitement that our new laptop will generate. It will be a schematic explosion!

Our new laptop will spur learning, generate and maintain a plethora of activities in our classroom, and drive curiosity as well as instruction.
