Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine that you are home sick. You feel well enough to be able to do some of your school work, but don't want to go to school and infect everyone else. Wouldn't it be great if you could access the curriculum via the web?

My students are 7th graders at a public school in California.

Many of them are on the school lunch program. Most of my students do have computer and Internet access at home. They are a racially and socioeconomically diverse group. They are a great class!

My Project

Many students who miss school due to illness, have a lot of trouble getting caught up when they return to school. Frequently since both parents work, their parents can't come to school to pick up their children's assignments. So, students come back to school not feeling one hundred percent with a mountain of work to complete. This is very hard! I'd like to be able to scan much of my documents to lighten the load for these deserving students.

This project being funded will help my students to stay home when they are sick, and not fall hopelessly behind.

Also, this will help students who are organizationally impaired do their work when they can't find the papers they need.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
