"I love science!" is what every teacher loves to hear! Wouldn't it be exciting to see 5th grade science science students engaged, asking questions, and collecting data? Students are natural scientists!
Our students love to learn!
We teach at a Title I school where most of the students are on free or reduced price lunch. They come to school with little more than a thirst for knowledge. We do everything we can to give them lots of opportunities for hands-on learning and to be real scientists.
My Project
The EcoSTEM Water Kit is a collection of hands-on learning tools that help teach students the importance of our watersheds. This kit will allow students to model evaporation and precipitation. Students will be able to monitor water quality and investigate water health through testing and searching for pollution-sensitive organisms. Students will be able to test actual samples to explore how pollution affects our oceans and wildlife.
Students will have the opportunity to be citizen scientists.
Our students will design and participate in a community education project where they can share what they learned and help to teach others how to prevent how to protect and keep our watershed healthy.
