Christa McAuliffe said, "I touch the future. I teach." True hearted educators believe this! We know the children are our future and we have to prepare them. Preparation comes in different forms. One is preparing them for our digital world. To prepare our children teachers have to continue learning!
I am a 3rd grade teacher and have been for several years.
My current school is a Pre K-5th grade school where parental support is wonderful. Our school at this time has almost five hundred fifty students.
My students are eager to learn. All of our teachers are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms. The mandatory upgrades in 2014 for Windows 7 tremendously slowed down my XP student computers. I'd like to work on updating my computer center this year. My goal is to continue learning more about technology integration and the Windows 10 system.
My Project
Like all other teachers, I know the importance of recognizing and addressing individual student needs. I will use this requested new Dell Inspiron laptop and HP mouse in our classroom for math, science, ELA, and social studies centers. We can use it for skill practice or to help with technology projects. I know that utilizing a new and faster computer will help my 3rd graders so much.
My students use computers daily with all subjects. We use them in centers and individually for meshing reading, math, and other subjects. My students can do projects and more. With so many programs and software within our parish and online, this will be helpful for my students. In short, a new computer will be a huge asset for centers, in groups or whole class lessons.
With a focus on attaining productive technology tools in my classroom, my students and I would love to have a new student Windows 10 computer for center work.
We can also connect it to our interactive whiteboard for whole class instruction, too. Your consideration in helping us will deeply be appreciated. As a teacher, I want to continue touching our future! Will you consider reaching out to help me "touch the future?"
