Rockin' and Rolling: All for One and Music for All
My students need steel pans, guitars, bass guitar and keyboard to create a unique rock ensemble. This will also serve music students in the general classroom too.
A typical day in the classroom entails fun, love and being too loud. I cover everything from Metallica to Beethoven. We sing, dance, play and create a musical experience that's inviting for everyone. I teach students basic music skills whether they want to pursue classical, rock or pop endeavors.
My students are incredibly smart, talented and hard working individuals.
What's most exciting is their love for music. They are creative, full of energy and can sing like you wouldn't believe. Most importantly, the students love a challenge and want to be continuously pushed into a new prowess of musical ventures.
My Project
I would like to create an ensemble that allows students to further their musical understanding and ability. This ensemble will give students an opportunity to play and learn multicultural genres, styles and techniques. Students who choose to participate in the ensemble will get to perform, in a concert setting, selected repertoire. The ensemble can allow students to explore instruments that are seldom offered in the public school setting and will give other students in the general classroom the ability to see and play these instruments first hand.
As stated earlier these donations will give students an opportunity to play and learn multicultural genres, styles and techniques.
This donation can allow students to explore instruments that are seldom offered in the public school setting and will give other students in the general classroom the ability to see and play these instruments first hand. Students will learn to appreciate other cultures, genres and an ensemble that they will remember for the rest of their lives.
