My students are eager learners and love to have any hands-on experiences to connect with what they are being taught. One of my challenges is making History connect with them. It has been a bit difficult as they are unable to connect with events that have happened in the past with their current life.
Many of my students come from low-income families.
We do not get many opportunities to experience things due to costs. Although this might be the case, my students are always happy to be at school to learn something new or to bring new knowledge to their peers.
My students strive to be internationally-minded and seek ways to see different situations from different perspectives.
Our school does it's best to provide the students with the best education with what materials we are given.
My Project
This trip would be of great benefit to our students. As a school that continues to help our students learn the multitude of subjects, we would love to give our students a chance to experience history with their own eyes.
If we were to be funded, our students will be able to see history come alive at Riley's Farm. They will be able to experience a reenactment of parts of the Revolutionary War. Not only will they be able to see, but they will be given the opportunity to partake in the experiences as well. Riley's Farm also provides a small meal that might have been eaten during this time period.
Our students will learn about an important part of our US History, which will lead them towards the Declaration of Independence.
I believe that this trip will definitely improve upon my students' lives because they will be able to experience something that they have not had a chance to partake in.
This trip will have lasting memories for them. I think that my students will come back from the trip with more questions to be answered and a greater drive to learn about our past.
