Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have the pleasure of working with some of the most talented and creative students. On a daily basis these students switch through nine periods where they transition through English, Math,Technology, Social Studies, Robotics, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education classes. With only one period for lunch I would be exhausted, but my students power through their day like champions.
I teach at a small science and technology high school in an urban setting.
My students come from many cultural and economically diverse backgrounds. They each utilize math, science and technology daily to create innovative projects.
This spring I would like to work with my Principals of Information Technology students to create traditional and digital resumes with video introductions. The purpose of this project will be to teach students how to present themselves appropriately for potential college and career opportunities in person and online.
My Project
For this project I am requesting one GoPro HERO4 video camera, one Storm GoPro Case, one Solid Black Men's Necktie, one Resume Writing Guide, and one Resume Paper.
I will teach students how to develop a positive personal brand and online digital footprint. Students will first write a traditional resume and print on the resume paper. Students will then use the content of the traditional resume to develop a one page digital resume, presented online as a web page. Student will dress business-like, complete with shirt and tie to create with the GoPro HERO video camera a video introduction to their online resume.
To do this project my students would like a GoPro video camera, black necktie, resume paper and resume writing guide.
By contributing to this project you will ensure that my students have an authentic learning experience - putting into practice classroom instruction on appropriate use of technology.
