3 years ago, art class was removed from our elementary campuses. Last year, I took on the challenge of teaching fine arts by combining music, visual art, and drama without an added budget. My students need markers, crayons, paper, paint, pencils, etc to aid their visual arts education.
My school is the best school!
We are a K-5 campus of approximately 750 students. Our students are diverse both culturally and economically. Our school is a place of love and learning. We teach the mind and the heart. Each student is given the opportunity to participate in service projects that help our community. We work with our families to make our students the BEST learner they can be!
My Project
These art supplies will be used by each child on our campus to learn more about visual arts. The paper, pencils, markers, crayons, paint, and brushes that I have requested will directly impact student learning. They will be able to take a hands on approach to art by actually creating their own masterpieces! Research has proven that the arts increase brain function, leading to improved academic performance. It is my goal to expose my students to as many art genres and mediums as I can. I hope this will spark a life-long love of the arts.
The purchase of these art supplies will allow my students to actively participate in art production.
It will enable them to increase their self esteem by producing successful works of art. This will increase academic performance and attendance. It will change lives!
