My students need an interesting way to exercise during recess after lunch. You will fill that need with a wireless speaker and iPod nano for each lunch playground.

My students and the other students in our school are active young learners. They work hard and play hard! Teachers try and provide them with brain breaks and recess to help them focus when they are in the classroom. Kids love to dance, so I would like to give them the tools to wiggle to the music.
My students are diverse and wonderful.
They are active, active, active! Our school is a great place to be because our children come to school every day ready to learn and see what surprises we have in store for them. Many of our families exist below the poverty level and struggle to put healthy food on the table, so we spend a lot of time focusing on healthy eating and exercise. We encourage our students to find ways they love to exercise and stay fit. Dancing is one of those ways!
At recess, our teachers and playground supervisors can set up an area for children to dance to music that we put on the iPod nanos. We have two playgrounds at our school, so we are asking for two bluetooth speakers and two iPod nanos. We hope to provide a fun option for the children to enhance our recess time. Teachers can also check out the gear for PE activities at other times of the day.
We all know that children are getting less opportunity to exercise.
Many families struggle to find ways for their children to keep active, so school time is the best time to make sure that movement and healthy choices are being offered. Many of our students love to dance and move to music, so the project will give them an outlet for their creativity and need for movement. I hope to give our children a chance to develop a life long love of exercise.
