My Students

Fictional Series/chapter books are a wonderful way for students to take part in a journey of excitement through reading.

I'm fortunate to work with a great group of children with disabilities.

I love to watch them engage in reading. They are highly engaged in their independent reading and love to tell me all about what they have read when it's a book they love so much! These series books are essential for many of my children who are entering a new phase of reading!

My Project

It's unfortunate that many of my children are not able to have the luxury of reading their own series and chapter books for enjoyment other than during school time. Many of my children can't obtain books like these because of lack of support other than in school. This is why these fictional series books would be a great I'm hoping that with this grant, my children will be able to continue their love for reading in my classroom! It's extremely important that my children improve their fluency and vocabulary skills throughout the year. I truly feel that with the help of reading these books, they will achieve this. Not only will they help their reading skills, they will show a new excitement for reading.

These series books are an essential asset for many of my children who are on various levels of reading.

It's extremely important that they are reading engaging books every day and with these various fictional stories I know they will!
