My students need manipulatives such as sound tubs, Hot Dot pens and lacing beads that will keep them engaged and focused as we work on Common Core standards.
Ignacio Estrada once said, "If a child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." I believe manipulatives and learning games increase stamina and, as a result, you will have successful learners.
I am a Title-One reading and math teacher working in a school district with a 73% poverty rate.
I teach grades K-3. All of my students are eager learners. I believe that learning is and can be fun. They are excited when we play learning games, and work with manipulatives. I want to add to that excitement to keep them engaged and learning. With the implementation of Common Core, I want to ensure that I'm teaching my students the needed and necessary skills to make them successful.
My Project
These resources will help me teach reading with games and activities. During small group instruction, we will play a game designed to meet the skills of my learners. When working with Kindergarten, the tracing letters will aid in their fine motor skills while the sound tubs will assist them with both beginning sounds and increasing their vocabulary. Engagement, interest, and learning would be very high!
Your donation would make it possible for my students to develop the skills necessary to succeed in the foundations of basic reading and writing.
Your help will keep my students engaged during our daily lessons and give each student the chance for a solid foundation. These items will bring excitement to their learning.
