Readers are easily discouraged when learning is too hard! Remember how YOUR PRIDE soared when you overcame a learning obstacle? Having access to available resources and learning tools though technology will increase their self-esteem and foster a life-long LOVE for learning!
My "WILLING and WAITING" First Graders are eager to develop their full learning potentials!
They are such thirsty learners! What a fabulous age...my students are ready to reach for the stars, but don't have a ladder long enough to adequately get them there! We have no computer access in our classroom for my students to use during literacy and math centers.
My Project
Every student will access the laptops each day. Students rotate through targeted instruction during our English Language Arts and Math rotations daily. Students receive differentiated instruction during five center rotations. One center rotation, in both ELA and math, would be the "technology center." At the technology center, students would finally have access to a 21st century resource with individualized instruction through the various instructional resources available to support Common Core learning. Students would also have access to research, and learn keyboarding skills. We have the wireless access, not the hardware. We are just waiting for your help! This investment would be paramount to every students' success!
Imagine the increased excitement and thrill felt by each student awaiting to "be on the computer!" Finally, they can practice the skills taught and feel successful!
Learning with technology is such a exciting and motivating experience for children! Learning must remain fun and exciting in order for it to be successful! Children deserve to feel this excitement, and learn with this opportunity!
