My students need a full body skeleton, stomach model, skin model, and various other 3D aids to better understand how each system works.

In our world of enlightenment that is known as our room, our students will tell you that everything is possible, no matter how improbable, until proved impossible and when it comes to changing the world, an individual can do more that he/she thinks he/she can.
My students are a melting-pot of economic standing and race with about an even mix of males and females.
They are an outstanding bunch of young adults with an eagerness to learn about the world within themselves. We reside in a school of 1750 students, of which 63% are minorities, and percent for reduced meals was so high that it has been offered to all students. The students within our school's district have three options, they may go to an IB school elsewhere, a technical school elsewhere, or remain remain here. The more high level programs that we can build here, the higher the probability we have of retaining some of these bright young individuals.
This year our Anatomy and Physiology program has expanded from 5 sections to 8. We have one partial skeleton and no other models to observe. We also have 40 students who are forming our schools first Health Occupations Students of America chapter. As a class we are going to use each of the models as a teaching aid allowing the students to not only get a visual but to understand how the body parts articulate with one another in the three dimensional world. Each one of the models will be used during lecture and lab to allow for a hands on experience, then during unit testing and exams the models presence will allow for the set up of 3D practical questioning. For our HOSA students we will be using the models to help them prepare for local, state, and national competitions. Each student gets to select from a varied list of medical tasks and each will be using the tools in their own way to help prepare for competition.
Take a minute and think about walking by and looking into the anatomy room.
What draws your interest more, a laptop sitting on the desk or a skull and vertebral column? Every question that we can spark in their minds is a plus for their futures. With your help, we hope take anatomy off the computer screen and put it back into their hands and continue to build our Anatomy program and our new HOSA group which will help prepare more kids for a professional and medical related future.
