My Students

Picture this: You have a special notebook and your favorite pen. There is classical music playing in the background and you find your favorite spot and spread out. This is what writing time looks like in my classroom.

My students are 4th and 5th grader special education students.

They love to learn and interact with everyone in our school community. Students in our school come from all walks of life and many receive free breakfast and lunch each and every day. They love to come to school because it provides consistency in the inconsistent world they live in.

My Project

I am requesting 6 packs of ink, 1 pack of paper and 12 packs of color pencils to publish their writing like real writers!!! The materials we are asking for will take them from writing their prized work with pens and loose leaf paper to typing them and creating real story books with bright colorful pictures. They love to take ownership in their work and this will help them to take it to the next level.

Many of my students do not have printers and computers at home.

These materials will allow them to learn new computer skills and publish their writing in a way that they can be proud of.
