Mrs. Chatham from Atlanta GA is requesting technology through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need 2 printers and 1 three-year protection plan so that they may print their work, scan items for group sharing, and have copies of documents they need.

"Can you go next door and see if that printed?" What I would give to not have to say that again in my class. We spend so much valuable time going to different places around the school to print research, papers, pictures and projects because we don't have our own printer.
I teach the Gifted program in two AWESOME schools!
The students I teach range from highest poverty to middle class. Some families are able to donate supplies and wish list items and luckily they give a little extra for those who cannot donate. All of my students love technology and are always begging to print their research, scan their creations to share on the interactive board or just make a spare copy so that they can share note taking duties with a friend on a project planner.
I am requesting 2 printers and 1 three-year protection plan so that they may print their work, scan items for group sharing, and have copies of documents they need. The students at BOTH of my schools need a classroom printer. My students and I will be able to print everything we need and not waste valuable instructional time waiting for seven other classes to retrieve their copies. It will also be nice to not have to wait for ink cartridges to be purchased and/or replaced. We have plenty of access to technology but we cannot create evidence of our technological learning if we are not able to print, scan and copy. By donating a printer, you would be giving my students the gift of being able to share scanned projects, print research and other media that pertains to their learning and make copies on an immediate basis.
When it is not in the tight education budget to purchase new printers or cartridges, my students' learning is impacted poorly.
They are unable to effectively share what they have learned and valuable class time is wasted trying to find a printer or cartridge. Even if they do print it out later, that excited moment has fizzled. A printer in each classroom will eliminate the break in learning and accentuate the learning moment with more immediacy.
