My Students

My students are constantly needing visual representations for directions. They learn best when the directions or instructions are given with visual representation. They also use these picture representations to communicate with others in their area.

My students are all served in special education for mild intellectual disabilities.

These students are sometimes unable to understand oral directions or describe their wants and needs with words. Colored pictures help them understand requests and help them to also request or communicate their wants and desires.

My Project

We are requesting a color printer and copier. My students will finally be able to have colored visual communicative pictures to use in their academic settings. They will be able to set up a picture communication board in order to better communicate with me and other peers or teachers they interact with on a daily basis!

My students will soar with the new color printer/copier!

Their understanding of directions and their ability to communicate with others in their area will increase dramatically. I know my instruction and my students abilities within an academic setting will only become better!
