My Students

Planting seeds and watching the miracle unfold is one of the greatest experiences in the natural world for young students to see!

Our school is located in a wonderful neighborhood.

Our school also pulls from outside communities; including families from a neighboring Title 1 school who are enrolled on special request. We also have a large ESE Autistic Unit, Pre K Program, and approximately 750 students on our Pre K-5 campus.

My Project

My students need a hose & nozzle to water the gardens, and a rack to safely store equipment. My students need a bench to buddy read and observe the beauty of the gardens. The resources will be used by the students to maintain our school flower garden, and the bench will be a placed under the huge shade tree to ponder and read in our memorial garden; dedicated in honor of our beloved Behavior Specialist, who went to heaven last summer.

Our school garden has been active since our school opened its doors 9 years ago.

The entire school population comes to observe, count blossoms, measure sunflower stalks, conduct scientific experiments; and simply marvel at the beauty of nature on our school campus. The equipment will assist us in maintaining and utilizing this special corner, or niche; in our community. I have witnessed first hand just how an introduction into gardening and farming can touch a child's heart and mind for life.
