My Students

On our Alaskan Island we are surrounded by natural resources. Please help us see what is possible.

Our students live on a remote island in southeast Alaska.

Many families rely on local resources including fishing and hunting. It is common for students to hunt and fish for subsistence. Students are very interested in how things work including new technology.

My Project

Partnering with our local fish and wildlife agency students will use the ROV to conduct research. Currently many survey processes are done by hand and an ROV could conduct tasks faster, safer and more accurate. Students will work to employ the OpenROV technology to assist in the annual fishing surveys for herring, sea cucumbers and salmon.

Through generous donations a group of students will have the opportunity to work on an amazing project.

Students will connect with mentors, implement new technology, explore careers and of course have fun.
