it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My students are hardworking elementary students that live in a low socioeconomic community.
Even though they're up against these odds, they show up everyday eager to learn and work. Living in a poorer community puts these students at a higher risk of becoming overweight or obese. My students are still at an age where they're passionate about learning and enjoying physical fitness.
As the generation of the future, I believe it is imperative that they get the opportunity to be physically active and learn the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. My goal is to teach students the basic skills they need to play the game of basketball in hopes of giving them a passion for the sport.
My Project
I envisions using the basketballs to teach students how to dribble through fun game-like activities during PE and our after school basketball club. I also plan on using the basketballs to teach students how to pass by having them practice chest and bounce passes. My students will also learn how to shoot a basketball. I will even challenge students by having them shoot over the defensive mannequins. I plan on using the practice jerseys to split my class or after school group into teams and let them scrimmage each other. This equipment will help my students learn the fundamentals of the game of basketball.
These donations will not only improve my class dynamic, but they will provide my students with an opportunity to be physically active.
My biggest goal as their teacher is to provide them with all the tools they need to be successful in life. This equipment will not only allow me to teach students about the game of basketball, but also the importance of being physically active. This equipment will help my students fight childhood obesity by providing them the necessities to play basketball.
