Once upon a time, there was a Kindergarten classroom who wished for twenty eight boogie boards. However, there were no funds readily available at the time. As an educator, I know we could utilize new computers. It would truly bring so many of our lessons to life! Would you please help us?
I teach Kindergarten at a wonderful Pre K-5th feeder school with over 500 students.
The parental support is very important to our families in the community. Our school is blessed to have wonderful teachers, leaders and of course, the best students! We are a school that believes in technology integration and we work hard every year to gain more technology resources for our students in the classroom.
My Project
Without a doubt, we live in a world filled with technology unlike ever before. At times, though, it is difficult for schools to receive additional funding for extra resources. Next year, I'd like to bring Boogie Boards with sleeves to my classroom centers. I offer technology lessons to my students daily. I feel that this would be an asset to my classroom. In Kindergarten classrooms, students learn 'A' is for Apple, etc. I'd like for the "B" to be for Boogie Boards! What is a Boogie Board? A Boogie Board is a revolutionary Reflex LCD 8.5 eWriter (tablet) which retains an image indefinitely. My students love art. As a teacher, I love "Empowering Students Through Art." This would help my creative students with academics, as well as daily art activities. I know it could be great for children to practice writing. They could use it for art and ELA (English Language Arts) skills, too. I could also place them in centers for writing practice, practicing ELA (alphabet) and math (number) practice, too.
This device, placed in centers, would help in so many ways.
I researched the effectiveness of Boogie Boards in classrooms and would love to have a set for my Pre-K students. Not only are they cost effective in terms of paper, but practical for classrooms! These electronic hand held tablets would be PERFECT for us! I know as a teacher, I could continue integrating effective lessons to bring my students. Would you please consider helping our Kindergarten class to have a fairy tale ending?
