My students need folders, pencils, paper, dry erase markers, and a pencil sharpener for our classroom. My students also need a leveled library to improve literacy.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As I enter the cafeteria each morning at 8:00 AM, I am greeted by the smiling faces of my 20 first grade students. As they happily eat their breakfast, I think to myself--I have the most important job in the world.
I teach in South Dallas, in a school where 99% of families are economically disadvantaged.
The odds are against them. Although they don't know it yet, their zip code alone will have a tremendous impact on their educational experiences.
Yes, my campus struggles for resources. Sometimes it seems that this makes my job that much harder. However, there are 20 reasons that I wake up everyday and give it my all--my kids!
My students push me to be a better teacher daily. They love to learn, and can take on any challenge I throw their way. They are SO full of life, and I am proud to be their teacher!
My Project
My students and I need a lot of basic school supplies. Pencils, paper, folders, and markers can get expensive to provide throughout the school year. My students will use these items daily, and in all subject areas!
I am requesting a leveled library so that my students can choose books that are on their reading level. Overall, my students' favorite subject is Reading! They get so excited about books (every teacher's dream), and I am hoping to support them by having a purposeful library that can meet all of my students' individual needs.
With your help, my students will have the school supplies and leveled library needed for them to be successful first-grade students!
They will be thrilled to see new books waiting to be read in our classroom library. They will be overjoyed to see new school supplies waiting for them on their desks!
