My students are eager and motivated to learn about the world around them.
I work with 33 students including 12 special education students in fifth grade.
My students have various special needs and different learning styles. We are a Title I school in Delaware comprised of students primarily from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Project
The various US and world maps and globe will provide hands-on resources conducive to learning. Students will be able to improve their skills in geography while integrating with core subject areas. These skills will build self-worth and contribute to their determination to reach their full potential. The maps, specifically the desk maps, will also provide them with an opportunity to collaborate with other students, to develop stronger peer relations and encourage team work. The globe will allow for interactive discussions by having hands-on opportunities to discuss various locations. My students deserve the chance to apply and broaden their skills.
Please help me provide access for my students to integrate geography into their daily curriculum.
Geography is critical for them to establish basic and concrete knowledge to enhance their education and provide them with opportunities they deserve. The background skills they'll develop will prepare them for a flourishing future in education.
