Technology is so appealing to this generation of kids! It grabs their attention and interest like nothing else. Most of my students simply do not have the opportunity to experience new technology at home. I want to bring the excitement of learning through the use of new technology to them.
My first grade classroom is always a diverse group made up of kids with all kinds of abilities, interests, backgrounds, and challenges.
From struggling readers to gifted students, I am here to teach them all and give them the best education possible.
My Project
With this project, I am requesting 1 new, innovative device called Osmo to use with our recently donated iPad. Osmo's groundbreaking system helps develop social intelligence and creative thinking by opening up the iPad to the endless possibilities of physical play. The kids do not touch the screen with an Osmo. They use actual objects to physically solve puzzles and problems! This Osmo Learning Game System will become one of our workstations the kids can rotate through while I work with a small group. Students can pick from word recognition games, geometry games, to creative drawing activities.
The Osmo Learning Game System will introduce my kids to the excitement of learning with new, innovative technology.
Students for years to come will be able to experience the Osmo Workstation in my classroom. Thank you for helping to bring this into the lives of my students!
