My students need comfortable reading furniture, including bean bag chairs and a carpet, plus high-interest book sets, a set of Big Books and magazines to promote a love for literacy.
I have 22 little bodies that feverishly roam my classroom on a daily basis in search of the perfect reading spot. The good news: My students LOVE to read. Woo-hoo! The bad news: I only have a few 'cool' reading spots and territory battles often ensue.
I teach a first grade class full of bright, capable students who come from civilian and military families of varying income levels, ethnic backgrounds, and home-life situations.
I would love to be able to provide them with the furniture and books needed to accommodate our large and continuously growing class size.
My Project
The requested sofa set, soft seats, bean bag chairs, and rug will provide my students with cozy, comfortable areas to practice their reading skills daily. The high-interest books and magazines will strengthen our classroom library while promoting a love for reading as well.
Early readers need daily opportunities to independently read and/or read with a partner to further grow.
The aforementioned materials will provide my children with several 'cool' places to read in an enticing, kid-friendly learning environment.
