My Students

The world is a vast place, but many of my students will not be able venture out of our community and experience what the world has to offer.

I work in a Title I school and most of my students receive free lunch every day.

We are located in a small community and the school is the center of the neighborhood. For some of my students, their most exciting outing is to the local grocery store and their only experience with the world is what they see on TV.

My Project

I remember waiting with anticipation to receive Scholastic News each week when I was a child. I want to share this excitement with my own students. If we were to receive a class set of Scholastic News, my students would learn more about their world every week. I hope to inspire them to get out and experience the world for themselves. I want them to learn about what is going on in the world and encourage them to make this world a better place.

Please help my students learn about their world with kid-friendly news every week.

The look of excitement on their faces and their anticipation of what each new issue will contain will be worth every penny!
