My students need 2 Kindle Fires, 2 Razor scooters and 2 scooter helmets for our fitness challenge incentive prizes that will be raffled off. All participants are entered.

I am fortunate to teach PE to every student at my school. I teach students at all levels of physical fitness and we have a yearly fitness run challenge for all students, it's a lot of fun and the entire school participates.
My students range from daily sports players to those with little experience of exercise.
Being in a high-poverty area, with most students receiving free or reduced breakfast and/or lunch, many just don't have the opportunities for extracurricular sports. This makes my time with them even more meaningful through activity and to also support their education as a whole. "A healthy body, a healthy mind."
My Project
Each year we hold a running fitness challenge for students to support a healthy lifestyle. This challenge also helps students learn valuable lessons of helping each other and provides a sense of belonging.
We have incentives to add to the fun. I am requesting two Kindle fires and two Razor kick scooters with helmets as incentive grand prizes (every student that participates receives one raffle ticket and an award). They know they are all on the same playing field for the prizes so the run itself isn't a competition. Students cheer each other on and even hold back to run slower if another student is having trouble. They want everyone to meet their goal and they have a blast doing it. Even students that were hesitant have smiles, knowing they have true support and are accomplishing something good for themselves. They each are handed a Popsicle as they finish and the next week we hold a community circle to celebrate, discuss their success and award prizes. It is a fitness challenge, and so much more.
Kindles are ideal to assist with our students' education.
These students will be able to access their study apps, even without internet access. The apps make learning more fun and students study longer. The scooters with helmets provide exercise benefits on many levels. Kick scooters are easily portable and give students the opportunity to exercise every day with no extra cost while having fun!
These items will keep students' minds and bodies active, and will benefit their every day learning.
