My students need these fitness items including playground balls, shuttlecocks, net, and more so that I can provide for them a better overall physical education experience.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a young student, I always looked forward to physical education. It was the one class that I was able to run around and play all the games and sports that I loved. To have a successful P.E. program, equipment is needed. This equipment will provide for my students a better overall P.E. class
I teach students in grades pre-K through 8th grade in an inner city school.
Since I teach a wide variety of ages, I need a variety of equipment. Most of my students receive free or reduced cost lunches and while we have some equipment, much of it is old and needs to be replaced. My students love being active. They love playing games and learning new skills. Physical education is the one class all day that they aren't sitting at a desk.
My Project
My students love playing games and each of these items will have a direct impact on what we can do in class. I have chosen a wide range of materials for my equipment wish list.
I have chosen the rhino skin balls because I will be able to do activities such as soccer and volleyball with all grade levels. The shuttlecocks will allow me to introduce badminton to my students and the jump ropes will be used to keep students physical active. As a P.E. teacher, I strongly believe that students need to be physically active so they are prepared to live a happy and healthy life
As an inner city school, we have limited resources and much of my current materials need to be replaced so that students can be provided with the best physical education possible.
I know that they will be very grateful for the opportunities this project will provide them. Thank you very much!
