This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
1.) Greet the kids with handshake's.
2.) "Warm-up," to grease up the brain gears.
3.) Daily lesson, as hands on as possible, and outdoors if weather permits.
4.) Small group station rotations.
5.) Our class quote, "The only person you should try to be better then, is the person you were yesterday."
My students are the craziest, funniest, most outgoing, proudest, and most intelligent young men and women you will ever meet.
They come together when one is hurting and they are all so quick to offer support when someone is in need. They truly understand and appreciate the responsibility that comes with being an upperclassman. Every single one of them is passionate about learning and wants to improve and be successful. I never met a group that really understands the importance of education and the places it will take you. Our school mirrors the sense of community and culture that exists in the 5th grade class. We are led by an amazing principal who has a vision and a plan that is proving very successful. Our school operates more like a giant family, truly embodying the famous saying "it takes a village to raise a child. As teachers we are encouraged to seek opportunities and ways to apply our passions or hobbies to making our school a better place.
My Project
The iPads will become a tool for blended learning and play a crucial role in helping all student develop a conceptual and visual understanding of the math they are working on. We would be able to add a ST Math station in to our group rotations making it possible to increase students opportunity to apply visual learning skills.
These donations will help my classroom by providing what would otherwise be unattainable.
It will give me, a teacher, one more tool that I can use to make sure that I reach every single student in my class. By offering another tool for visual learning, I am able to reach one of the more challenging learning styles, the visual learners.
