This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need incentives to meet goals in the quest for improving literacy skills. You can help by feeding their candy desire as I feed their brain with new skills!

My students are high schoolers that are reading below their grade level.

I am helping improve their literacy skills using computerized software. I use candy and small rewards as incentives to meet goals and improve. Just knowing that there is something waiting for them when they reach a goal is very motivating for these students!

My Project

My students need small candy rewards for meeting weekly goals and larger candy and soda rewards for completing programs. The small rewards that my students receive for making goals is helping them feel great about their accomplishments and motivating them to work harder. I feel it is very important to reward. I have been purchasing for my students out of my own pocket. Then, I heard about this organization and thought it was worth a try to get some help for my students.

Literacy is the key to students being college or career ready.

I am faced with the task of motivating students to improve those skills. Finding a fun way to reward them for accomplishments is very motivating. Something as simple as a piece of candy or lollipop is a great incentive.
