My students need a 3D printer and six spools of filament in various colors to design virtual projects using computers and then watch them physically appear.

My Students

We are creating a Makerspace that allows the students a place to create, invent and explore in our library media center.

Our students live in a small rural area.

Our school is identified as a high poverty school by the United States Department of Education. This limits the availability of community resources. Our students love to explore, create, and invent, having a 3D printer would allow them to make their dreams come alive.

My Project

The Makerspace, in our library media center, would allow both teachers and students to create, invent and explore ideas related to the subjects they are learning in a hands on, engaging way. Students love to see their creations come to life, and a 3D printer will help make this happen.

Our students don't have the same opportunities to explore in the world of science, technology, engineering and math as students who are in large districts.

This gives them an introduction to 3D printing and all of its possibilities.
