My Students
My first graders are an excited group of learners.
We belong to an extremely diverse school family, including students from many different countries, and also students who live in our neighborhood.
My students enjoy learning together, reading together, and trying new activities. They are excited to come to school knowing they have support from their classmates and teachers.
My Project
We are requesting several picture book read alouds about yoga and mindfulness, along with yoga mats that we will share. My students sometimes have hectic, busy lives, and often times we need to take a break to relax, and get our minds and bodies ready for learning. Mindfulness and yoga have been a larger part of our school community, and many classes are trying it out. We need materials to be able to do this. My students and I will use the read alouds to understand why yoga and mindfulness are important, and learn how to incorporate it into our classroom. We need yoga mats to use so my students feel successful.
With your donation, we will be able to have materials including read alouds about mindfulness and yoga, and yoga mats for my students to use throughout the week.
My students will be able to share in a time with the classroom community to relax and reflect on our day, and get ready for calm learning.
