My students are seventh and eighth graders. They have disabilities that require them to work in a self contained classroom that can focus on daily living and functional skills to prepare them for graduation and adulthood.
The students decided that it would be a great idea to try and protect the new iPads that we just got from our last DonorsChoose.org project by asking for funding for cases that are super sturdy and durable to make our precious technology last for a long time!
These students are learning how to value things and work on real life problem solving when you have something in your home that is valuable that you want to make an effort to protect it. This will help them as they turn into adults that need to independently care for their own items.
In Their Own Words
We are trying to protect our classroom items that we enjoy using on a daily basis. By doing this not only will we be able to use these items for a long time but so will other students in the future that come to our classroom.
We will work on making this dream come true by sharing information about it with our family and friends. We will also talk with people we know in our community. This will allow us to practice using communication skills.
We will solve the problem of things being destroyed in the classroom. It will also help our peers to enjoy the technology and have it not ruined so quickly. This means that it will be used for years to come.
DonorsChoose is the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
As a teacher-founded nonprofit, we're trusted by thousands of teachers and supporters across the country. This classroom request for funding was created by Mrs. Adams and reviewed by the DonorsChoose team.
