Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are taking a number of Advanced Placement science classes in our school. As we work to include more advanced courses, we need to replace older equipment to give them the best possible laboratory experience.

We are a Magnet school in a very large urban district.

Many of our students will be the first in their families to go on to a College or University. Many are on free and reduced lunch programs. Most are from minority families. We offer these students an extremely advanced curriculum, and it is so wonderful to watch them respond and perform at levels that so many do not expect.

My Project

We are requesting ten LabQuest Mini interface modules to replace older ones that are obsolete, starting to fail, and are not compatible to other new equipment the we are receiving. We will be issuing new laptops to our students next year, and these new interfaces will work directly with the new laptops. allowing the students to make more advanced types of measurement, and experience many new and more advanced labs.

As a part of our AP Physics program we do many different labs.

We try to include both older style labs at a fairly low technology level, and others at a high technology level. The equipment that we use in the higher technology level is old and starting to fail. Your donations will help us to replace the older equipment, and give the students a much better laboratory experience.
