I love the quote by Diana Oblinger that states, "There are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom. The ultimate objective is to find the right path to maximize learning. This applies to my own learning journeys, as well. I am ready to take my first step on this learning path!
I am a teacher at a Pre K-5th grade school.
We are a tight community that works together. Our parental support is so amazing! Our local school has about 550 students. Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I love working with my adorable 1st grade students. Our teachers and students are active in utilizing technology in our classrooms daily. The next step for me would be learning about Windows 8, but before I cross that bridge, I know I need to learn more about this powerful resource. As I become the student in this unique journey, I know I will in turn bring more effective project based lessons into my classroom and to my students with a Window 8 laptop. For now though, I need to work on my proposed lesson plan and become a student. In a nutshell, I know that in learning more about Windows 8 formatting as a student, I can then strengthen my role as a teacher.
My Project
I want to learn about Windows 8 & project based learning. My plan in terms of Professional Development, includes working with my tech leader individually or with small groups. The lesson plan for my personal learning journey includes meeting for three sessions for me to understand the power of Window 8 and project based lessons. In speaking with my tech leader, she recommended professional development articles & tutorials that would guide my learning path. With the use of the requested Windows 8 laptop in this grant, my mentor will guide me with my personal learning path. Our plan of action for this endeavor lies with striving for two goals: The first part includes learning the hardware & new software of Windows 8. After learning the physical aspects of this tool, the second goal would offer effective project-based learning activities for my students later.
Diana Oblinger said "There are a lot of positive uses to the technology in the classroom.
The objective is to find the right path for students to enhance learning." I agree with that. With this specific plan of action, I know I will learn awesome ways to implement Windows 8 and project based lessons in the classroom. This applies to my own learning journey, as well. I am ready to take on this new technology journey with your funding. Will you help me?
