My Students

18 students learning math + 18 students reading math books = the perfect equation for endless learning possibilities. Math is by far my favorite subject. It was my favorite to learn and it is my favorite to teach. I want to make math come alive for my students.

I have 18 brilliant students.

They come from all different backgrounds and have many different learning styles. Some learn better through movement, some through math games on our iPads, some through small groups, and others from real world examples. Last year our school had 38% at proficient or higher level. I want to do what I can to raise our math proficiency and allow our students to love and learn math.

My Project

These math start books will bring math to the real world. They bring upbeat and fun stories to math. They also include many activities where students at all levels can be challenged and explore the math we learn. The pictures help visual learners with the vibrant colors and exciting maps and diagrams. These books are just what we need to enhance student learning in math.

Each year we continue to try different strategies to help our students improve in math.

My students love to read. I know that these books will be loved by students. I can see them picking them up at all times during the day, not only in math. These books will bring math to all areas of our learning.
