Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Learning math for some students can be a difficult and arduous task. Long gone are are the days of answering math problems on worksheets. Teachers are now expected to provide fun and exciting lessons with interactive centers for the students to engage in.

My students are fun loving, caring students who face a variety of challenges on a daily basis.

They live in a low income area and go to school with limited resources and materials. They are all special education students with emotional disturbance and other severe behavioral difficulties. Because of their low socioecomonic status, they often do not get to experience the same learning materials as other students in more privileged areas. Interactive centers work well with my students because they keep them engaged while they learn the material. Unfortunately they do not get to use these types of materials often.

My Project

Using the interactive math centers will help my students learn basic math operations and be engaged as well. Using these centers my students will become independent learners and gain confidence as a result. Instilling confidence in the minds of my students is vital in that so many times in the past they have been told they are not good enough The centers will also help the students learn to work together which is also important for them to do. More than one student will benefit from these centers.

Let them experience fun and interactive learning that will last a lifetime. They will get more out of their learning if they enjoy it. By doing these math centers they will enjoy learning math and well as learn a great deal in the process.
